The alarm can be programmed in three different ways. In the active mode, the alarm must be armed and disarmed by the user using remote control. In the passive mode, The alarm will automatically be set 30 seconds after the last door is closed and it must be disarmed with the remote control. In the semi-passive mode, it's similar to active mode except that if no door is opened 60 seconds after system is disarmed, the system will automatically rearm by itself, so that vehicle remains protected should the deactivation have been accidental.
Vehicle's start circuit can be opened when running under remote starter. This avoids accidental starter grind when key is reinserted in the ignition, and turned to the start position.
This programmable option locks doors when brake pedal is depressed and unlocks doors when the key in the ignition is turned off, or the unit is put in continuous mode.
Auxiliary outputs are used to control other accessories with the remote such as lights, power windows, headlights, gas trap, rear window defogger, etc.
A function on the remote control that sounds horn and flashes the parking lights for a few seconds to help locate vehicles in large parking lots.
Each connector can only be connected in one socket to avoid misconnection during installation.
This function allows car to run without the key in the ignition. While engine is running with the key in ignition, pressing the start button on the remote allows removal of the key from the ignition for safe running of the engine. The engine will run for the set running time , then turn off if no other command is given.
This mode allows identification of a reason for a fail to start or alarm trigger. Is performed with the L.E.D on the module or on certain models and with the parking lights as well.
Some Astroflex models offer an output for the dome light, turning it on for 35 seconds when doors are unlocked using the remote.
One of the inputs is used for the regular shock sensor that triggers the alarm while the other input is used for the other, more sensitive shock sensor. Should the vehicle be hit lightly, the siren is sounded in a 2 seconds blast as a warning but the alarm is not triggered. If the vehicle is hit harder, the second stage sensors trigger the full alarm.
Some vehicles require two pulses to activate Locks (programmable option). The first pulse unlocks the driver's door only, while the second unlocks all doors.
Lock output supplies positive or negative pulse for added versatility.
This function can be programmed at time of installation and allows siren not to chirp at time of arming or disarming. Only parking lights indicate status change.
Various sensor models can be used with an alarm. (EX: glass sensor, microwave sensor, etc. An additional sensor can be used in addition to the impact sensor.)
When activated, the low temp mode monitors temperature between -5c or 23 F and –30c or –22 F (according to programming) every two and one-half-hours. If temperature falls below set value, engine is started by remote starter and runs for the programmed period (between 2 and 18 minutes).
This input allows vehicle to be started with an accessory other than the remote control that supplies a negative pulse (i.e timer, channel expander).
This safety feature stops the engine when it reaches 3000 rpm.
With a single button on the remote, this mode allows activation of horn and parking lights in case of emergency.
Four different safety devices protect vehicle from theft when remote started. Engine will stop if: hood is opened, transmission is engaged, brake pedal is depressed or gas pedal is depressed.
When remote control signal is received by vehicle, parking lights flash to confirm reception of signal and remain on while engine is running.
One or more remote controls can be programmed (max 4). Simply open the hood, turn ignition on , depress the brake pedal and turn the ignition key on and off three times. The module is now in the learning mode. This function allows quick programming of remotes and avoids having to access main module. As added protection when programming is entered, existing remotes are cancelled out, therefore they will need to be reprogrammed as well.
Programming of engine runtime at 2,4,8 or 18 minutes can be performed with the remote control. Runtime is doubled in diesel mode.
Programming of temperature set point in low temp mode at –5 c or 23 F, -15 c or 5 F, -20 or – 7 F and – 30 c or –22 F can be performed with the remote control.
In very cold temperatures, engine can be set to run for a longer period than already programmed. Simply press again on remote start function while the engine is running to reset counter to zero.
This function is integrated to the siren and is designed to reduce noise level during arming and disarming of the system and make it more discreet.
This system is designed to disable one or more essential circuits on your vehicle and make it unusable. It is automatically activated when key is removed from ignition and deactivation is performed by one of vehicle's OEM switches or the remote itself.
This function is designed to save time at the moment of installation by selecting automatically the correct number of cylinders.
The timer can be programmed so that vehicle starts at one or more preset times.
Signal emission is confirmed by a light on the remote. Some models are equipped with a piezo (audible signal).
This mode allows temporary deactivation of alarm or alarm or anti-theft system while vehicle is left for service in a car repair shop.
